As the Sun passes through the sign of Scorpio from 23 October to 22 November and we descend into the Winter months of the year, we consciously take an inward turn to explore our deepest, darkest realms.
The path of Scorpion begins at the base energy centres and snakes up the spine to open the pineal gland and connect to spiritual energy at the highest level. In doing so, the symbol for this sign transmutes from a Scorpion to an Eagle. So the journey of Scorpio is the alchemical act of raising energy from root to crown; the lower self dying to be reborn as the higher.
The M symbol represents the Universal Mother, the feminine Magnetic Principle and our internal subconscious waters. The arrow shows the masculine Electric Principle. Together we see the sexual union of our cosmic original birth. Sexual Passion is strong in this sign which rules the sexual organs which generate new life.

We all have Scorpio in our chart somewhere and the position (or house/s) that Scorpio occupies shows us where we can best apply the beneficial aspects and tackle the challenges that it brings.
Physically Scorpio is a Water sign, and the water we are talking about here is the deep subconscious. Anything that lurks underneath the surface, repressed and feared can appear on the outside in physical form. So to work physically with Scorpio energy we need to turn and face our demons, to do the shadow work and venture voluntarily into the underworld. Then there is an opportunity to externally ritualise anything that requires releasing at the time of Halloween using the physical elements and our connection with the Earth.
Mentally Scorpio is the higher expression of Mars and this combination gives us the power to be our own spiritual psychologist; to bravely explore the dark places and, with laser precision, burn out anything that does not sustain us. Taurus, the opposite on the axis to Scorpio encourages strength and self love during this phase.
