May Bank Holiday Wild Swimming, Coastal Walking & Yoga Retreat in Cornwall

Description

2024 Dates

24th -27th May x 3 nights

27th – 31st May x 4 nights

Join us for a wild swim and coastal walking retreat over the May bank holiday in Cornwall. Spend an afternoon with swim coaches and learn the benefits of sea swimming and enjoy a swim together. On the second day enjoy a long coastal walk. Yoga twice a day and delicious plant-based food too of course!

Based within a stunning estate only 15 minutes away from some of the most famous beaches in north Cornwall, this location gives the perfect opportunity to relax in the beauty of the Cornish countryside whilst enjoying activities on the coast in the daytime.

On one day enjoy a coastal walk along the South West coastal path, enjoy blustery landscapes and views and for the brave take a dip in the sea and warm up with a hot chocolate! On the second day enjoy a trip to another part of the coast for another coastal walk and have a go at surfing! Or relax at the venue and have a massage or cosy up with a good book.

After a fun day on the beach, come back to your country pile to relax in nature, enjoy yoga, delicious food, massage and cosy sofas to sink into or if sunny relax in the sun on a blanket on the lawns.

The garden surrounding the manor house and additional properties is a 22-acre expanse of lawns, ornamental lakes, camelia woods, orchards and an incredible walled vegetable garden. When not enjoying yoga in the large studio the lawns create a perfect space for classes too.

There is something for everyone on our Cornwall adventures, if you prefer more walking you can enjoy this as the coastal paths are easy to follow and if you prefer more swimming, SUP or surfing, we can help arrange any of these activities.

The retreat will begin at 4 pm on the first day with our opening yoga class at 6 pm.

Our yoga classes take place in the spacious and beautiful yoga shala with all the yoga equipment provided.

Yoga Teacher

Rosie Maverick is a yoga teacher and paddle-boarding coach with over 10 years of personal practice. She initially trained in Bali in Hatha and Vinyasa Flow and has subsequently completed training in Yin yoga, Forrest yoga, SUP yoga, Thai yoga massage and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy.

She is known for her warm and engaging teaching style and personalised approach. She believes that yoga is not a ‘one size fits all’ and encourages individuals to work with their own bodies not against them.

To establish a sense of their centre and come home to who they truly are. Her distinct style of teaching closely mirrors her personality; observant, empathic, warm and supportive. Her dynamic classes focus on healthy, spacious alignment and Forrest yoga inspired core connection, fused with creative vinyasa flows. Her yin and restorative classes incorporate yoga energetics and therapeutics. Rosie’s intention with every class is that the experience feels inclusive, healing and soulful.

Rosie has facilitated numerous retreats and specialises on experiences that that combine yoga, water (be that on it or in it) and a deep connection to nature; both your own and the outdoors.

Rosie has a background in psychology with a focus on Eastern psychology and body psychotherapy. She is currently studying for a masters in psychological anthropology. These learnings add colour and depth to her teaching and her classes aim to support the body, mind and spirit combined.

When not teaching yoga or paddling, she can be found in cold water (swimming!) or drinking tea in bed first thing. She currently lives in London and travels extensively for work and life.

Cuisine

We are a plant-based company and take great pride in creating incredible food on our retreats. Our chefs create diverse and imaginative menus that really highlight the seasonality of local produce. We are able to cater to all dietary requirements.
