The site has been cleverly set into the hillside and features level terraced pitches with dry-stone walled tiers leaving each pitch completely private and surrounded by unbeatable far reaching views.
The scenery is typical of the Yorkshire Dales with rolling green hills interspersed with traditional stone barns and sheep grazing on the hillside. The site is perfect for kids with plenty of space for them to run around and play including a large woodland area.
We accept tents, caravans, motorhomes and campervans, with caravans on hard standing and tents on grass, there is a 10amp electric supply to all caravan pitches and some of the tent pitches and each pitch comes with its own picnic table.
Our four beautiful timber lodges are situated at the top of the site with some of the best views across the Wharfe valley. Each uniquely designed lodge has been finished to a high quality with a brand new interior.
They can sleep up to 6 people and feature a large open plan kitchen, dining and living area with amazing views. There are 2 bedrooms and a modern shower room, a 32” smart Tv and wifi. We would love to welcome you to our magical Hawthorn Hideaway with luxury self catering accommodation including two lodges and one narrow boat. It sits in a two acre area including a woodland adjacent to our home and the scenic Chesterfield Canal.
Enjoy the view of the woodland and listen to the birdsong from your private raised deck. Listen out for the owls at night or maybe a woodpecker pecking away in the day. If you are lucky, you might catch the blue flash of a kingfisher flying across the pond. The narrowboat is also insulated with a large deck to the back a a smaller one to the front.

”Tucked away on a privately-owned estate in the South Downs in Sussex, you’ll stumble across this delightful yellow school bus, originally from Florida. Chosen for its spaciousness and impressive headroom, the Skoolie Stays bus is now living a second life as luxurious, off-grid accommodation with plenty of room for a family of four to enjoy a unique glamping experience.
Solar panels, water-saving technology and sheep’s wool insulation ensure that your stay is as environmentally friendly as possible, while the sensitive restoration has retained much of the character of this iconic bus.
From the outside, the striking colour and profile of an American school bus are immediately recognisable. However, step inside and you’ll find that the interior has been carefully designed to create spacious and unique accommodation. It has been hand-built using environmentally-friendly materials where possible, such as recycled American Oak and recovered teak. Original parts of the bus have been recycled and repurposed and you’ll find all the buttons and levers still in the cab.
In the cosy master bedroom at the rear of the bus, there’s a king-sized bed with beautiful views out over the surrounding fields on all sides. There’s space for two children to sleep, or two adults up to 5ft 8, in bunk beds that are designed to fold away during the day. The bathroom features a fully tiled shower and a composting toilet which means no wasted water and no smells.
The centre-piece of the eye-catching kitchen is the ‘penny-table’ countertop, the copper beautifully complementing the wood of the herringbone floor. The kitchen is equipped with a gas stovetop, a fridge and a large sink and is set across from an American diner-style eating area. Two of the original bus seats have been used on either side of a vintage teak school table to create this cosy dining space. Juniper is hidden away in the Scots pines creating some privacy while allowing glimpses out to the Highlands through the trees. This impressive 7.5 tonne converted Leyland horse lorry now has a beautiful wood-clad interior that sleeps a family of four and even has room for a roll top bath tub.
There’s a comfy double bed with a sprung mattress, crisp white linen and feather pillows and duvet. The bed for the kids is located in a nook above the lorry cab, creating a cosy space for them. There’s also a kitchenette and an ensuite with a flushing toilet.
