Talk about making a grand entrance; the luxurious, and elegant boutique hotel Nolinski has the red carpet out for your welcome. A new discovery of a spa hotel in Paris, that I am delighted to share with my fellow wellness travellers.

Opened in August this year and located in one of the most prestigious areas of Paris, in the first arrondissement, on l’Avenue de l’Opera. In the Golden Triangle, nearby the Louvre, Comédie Française and the Palais Royal Gardens. The Nolinski is the first Parisian hotel from the EVOK Hotel Collection. To transform the 18th Century Haussmannian building, which formerly housed offices, they hired Jean Louis Deniot – the in demand, and universally admired interior architect and decorator who has become synonymous for his urbane and artful approach to design. His updated classical approach now graces interiors in Paris, the French countryside, Moscow, India, New York, Chicago, L.A., and beyond and whose projects include the glamorous Chanel spa at the Ritz.

A minimalist reception crafted from beautiful Carrara marble sets the tone for the rest of the design, where contemporary style meets classical architecture with Deniot’s distinctive flair.

The feeling of the Nolinski experience is sophistication, glamour and luxury comfort. What first strikes me are the colours, furniture and opulent fabrics; hues of blue, gold, silver and emerald green, precious materials and custom-made chairs and tables, velvet curtains and rich soft carpets and rugs.

Downstairs the Nolinski presents the BRASSERIE RÉJANE and GRAND SALON

The attention to detail (unusual and distinguishing detail), does not go unnoticed such as the cubist-inspired tiling, geometric lights, brass and painted mirrors, silver leaf ceiling and hand painted silver walls, swizzle chairs and hexagonal shapes. It’s like a temple to the finest things in life.

The brasserie, Réjane is a lovely spot for dinner or coffee and cake (the meringue which I can vouch for, was absolutely delicious!).

The Grand Salon is the place for an intimate cocktail with a cosy spot around the grand piano and magnificent bronze fireplace under the silver leaf ceiling.

The corridors and staircase are designed to represent the sky with clouds decorated on the wallpaper, each of the six floors splashed with a different luminous colours until you reach the top and the impressive skyline window

ROOMS AND SUITES

There are 45 rooms including 9 suites, none of them short in size, ranging from 25ft to 150ft squared. These rooms offer the ultimate in luxury, comfort and space, if I could live in this hotel room I would! Each has its own identity and colour palette incorporating bold tones of green, raspberry, beige, blue and yellow, chosen by Deniot to enhance the harmonious greys and waxed concrete.

Beautiful materials, mouldings, neoclassical wood paneling and 1970s vintage furniture are punctuated with curated sculptural ceramics, precious materials and works of contemporary art, while heavy black out curtains and rich carpets ground the design and provide a cocooning feel. A perfect and silent nights sleep here is guaranteed as the double French doors are two sets of window panes and are both double glazed. Breakfast can be served in bed, and the preferred choice for me is the ‘detox’ breakfast. There’s so much food it’s a doggy bag to take away for us!

The most iconic suite, located on the 5th floor is called the Josephine, offering the best views of the l’Avenue de l’Opera.

SPA time

The Spa Nolinski by Colline presents a swimming pool, hammam, steam room and treatments and massages are available using the cutting-edge products of the Swiss Riviera. The setting is rather cosmic with a mirrored, starry lit ceiling and abstract landscape wall panel. An experience where the four elements unite: the soft whisper of the water, granite flooring, warm wood panelling, flickering candles all collide in a natural source of cosy well-being. Keeping up with the elegance of the rest of the hotel, one can relax in the designer Louis XIV armchairs around the pool

I received a deeply relaxing facial from the beauty line La Colline, a first for me to try this product. My entire face is pampered with a mask and a massage and left with a fabulous glow. I highly recommend!

The friendly attitude, sincerity and exceptional service of the staff from the door men to the reception, restaurant and spa concludes my faultless review of the Nolinki. Kudos to this fabulous establishment that really knows how to stand out amongst the rest.
