Yoga & Ayurveda mini retreat day with Emma & Prem

Time and date: Saturday 18th May from 2.30 – 6pm

Location: ELM Yoga. Unit 12, St Austell Business Park. PL25 4FD

An introduction to Ayurveda with a Vata/Kapha Yoga practice suitable for all levels and yummy homemade vegan food.

Ayurveda is the science of life and the sister to yoga. They go hand in hand flowing with the seasons and invite us to be present and aware of our diet, lifestyle and yoga practices within each season to retain balance and soothe the doshas (energies within the body).

Body massage and ayurvedIc herbs are two further factors that make up the Ayurvedic principals, which we will explore a little, but more so in the following workshops.

This Ayurvedic session will be in two parts:

1) We will cover the 3 doshas Vata, Pitta and Kapha and see how they influence our being and how the different seasons can enhance or disrupt our doshas. We will look at the elements associated with each dosha and where they are within us and around us, bringing us back to the whole (all one).

When the doshas become imbalanced ayurveda believes illness shows up in the body. This can be witnessed in so many ways.

2) Ayurveda believes good health starts with the gut, so we will be looking at the importance of a healthy Agni (digestive fire) & ama (toxins).

During Emma’s Yoga practice we’ll be focusing on vata releasing (air & space/ether) which is restorative focused for serenity and nourishment.

And Kapha (earth & water) bringing warmth into the body with some gentle surya namaskars (sun salutations), exploring smooth, steady & fluid movements in the joints creating tapas (heat) to help get anything stagnant moving.
So this will be a balanced Yoga practice for all dosha’s and all abilities.

Emma and PremDevi hope this introduction will give you an insight into ayurveda and Yoga, inspiring you to weave some ayurvedic principles and a Yoga practice into your life. Email Emma to book your spot. Book here.

In collaboration with Mortimer House, a private members club in London and Anniek Verholt of Therapeutic Arts Studio.

Anniek works with mindfulness, visualisation, meditation and creative expression. Her workshops, sessions and retreats combine creativity, self expression and a professional therapeutic approach to optimising health & wellbeing. This workshop will guide you through an in-depth exploration of the often unconscious and symbolic meaning of the images on your board is often described as a very revealing and insightful process.

When you tend to say “I don’t know what I want” (in my life, career, relationship, place to live, etc), creating your own Vision Board will give a sense of direction and will reveal your best way forward.

Making a Vision Board is a great way to gain new knowledge about your deepest desires and inner drivers and increases your motivation to act and change your life for the better.

When you tend to say “I don’t know what I want” (in my life, career, house, relationships etc), this is the way forward for you. Creating a Vision Board reveals what makes you tick and inspires you to make it happen!

It’s a great way to gain insight into what’s truly important to you, increases your motivation to act and to change your life for the better.

We as human beings have the tendency to look for answers in our head using the ‘beta state’ (the rational, analytical, thinking part of our mind), and at times it very insightful to use our ‘alpha state’ (the creative, visual, inspirational, playful, out of the box-part of our mind) to access new information.

Imagine piles of glossies, Pritt sticks, flipping through pages and ripping out the pictures that appeal to you in order to create your personal Vision Board.

You’ll flick through until you spot something that appeals to you. Rip the picture (or word) out and stick it to your piece of cardboard.

You will create a Vision Board actual board (which you can take home afterwards) and you’ll receive a professional analysis of your creation. Book here.

Put your feet up and let us do the hard work for you. Sign up to receive our latest retreat deals directly in your inbox.
