Join us on our January hiking yoga holiday in Yorkshire. Take these 3 nights in January to reset and rejuvenate in your own time and space. Yoga, energising hikes with stunning scenery, a setting intentions workshop to feel clarity and delicious food will leave you feeling energised and ready for the year ahead.

Your days in Yorkshire are relaxed but full. Included in the price are two guided hikes with qualified mountain guides with the hikes directly from the house, delicious plant-based meals, a hot tub and sauna, and yoga to nourish both body and soul.

On our New Year retreats, you can do as much or as little as you like. The itinerary is all organised so you can switch off and enjoy being in the new company of like-minded people and energise or relax, it is up to you. After the hikes, jump in the hot tub with views of the whole valley—a sight to see.

Our local hiking guides lead the two hikes available during this New Year’s yoga holiday in the Yorkshire Dales. With their depth of knowledge, they also provide an informative tour of the local area, which has beautiful U-shaped valleys and stunning scenery. Feel refreshed with brisk countryside walks with our qualified guides.

As it is the new year, we share a setting intentions workshop to help you get clear on goals for 2025 and what you want to let go of from 2024 so that you start the new year with positivity and focus.

Accommodation

The venue is modern yet traditional, the owners have imprinted their style with comfy beds, quirky artwork, good quality linen and towels, cushions and throws, it is a home from home and you will feel relaxed as soon as you enter the building.

Stay in a beautifully finished country farmhouse with a separate yoga barn with yoga equipment. This venue is also special because the family that owns it are regenerative farmers and care deeply for the environment. They have green practices to help sustain nature in the surrounding area.

About The Yoga

On our January Yorkshire hiking yoga holiday, the classes are suitable for all abilities from beginners to intermediate. Everyone is welcome! Our inspiring and experienced teachers are well-practised at adapting the class to everyone’s level.

The yoga teacher will create a more dynamic class in the morning with Vinyasa flow and Hatha sequences to prepare you for the day’s hike, and the evening class will enable deep relaxation with restorative, yin, meditation, and yoga nidra.

Teachers / instructors

Melanie Hutton:

Melanie has a wealth of experience working on retreats since 2014. A dedication to yoga and its lifestyle led her to train with Frog Lotus yoga International Spain alongside her holistic therapy career. From teaching to hosting to massaging, her skill set is vast. Her classes are holistic in style using the meridians and chakra system and bringing in a magical workshop feel as well as knowledge on the philosophy of yoga and its root.

Expect her classes to be compassionate , mindful and nurturing in feel which encompass her optimistic, vibrant yet peaceful personality. Melanie aims to give each Yogi something to take away with them to work on physically or mentally.

Melanie joins us at Adventure yogi and now lives in Manchester the North West of the UK where she holds regular classes and workshops mainly in Yin Yoga her specialist yoga style where she takes you through a journey of the meridians . Her vinyasa flow classes are often chakra based learning about these powerful energetic centres through movement breath and meditation to help settle each and every yogi into the retreat.

Schedule / Typical day

On our January hiking yoga retreat in Yorkshire, feel free to arrive from 5 pm on the first day to allow time to settle in before the first yoga class and dinner.

The retreat will end at 10 am on the final day after a shorter yoga class and brunch.

All of our retreat chefs are highly experienced and passionate about their craft. We have always been a vegan/vegetarian company!

Expect delicious and creative brunch, lunch, and 2-course evening meal. Each meal will be balanced to keep you energised all day.

Location and how to get there

By car

The nearest town to the retreat is Richmond which is about a 5-hour drive from London.

By Train

National Rail will release train ticket availability around three months before travel.

The nearest station is Darlington. It’s about 20 miles from the retreat with a taxi journey time of 40 minutes. The journey from London by train is about 2.5 hours and from Edinburgh about 2 hours.

You will be allowed into the venue from 5 pm, so please aim to arrive in Darlington at 4:20 pm.

Shortly before the retreat starts we will set up a Whatsapp group, which will allow you to organise shared transfers to and from the venue with fellow yogis.
