August Bank Holiday Yoga and Hiking Retreat | Lake District

About The Retreat

Join us on our August bank holiday weekend hiking and yoga holiday in the Lake District from Thursday to Sunday. Your days will be active with a full day and half day hike and of course yoga twice a day! Return from your day of adventure to a stunning house in the heart of the Lakes with spectacular views.

With majestic mountains to climb, breathtaking views, and beautiful lakes to enjoy a cold water dip, this stunning landscape is a place to immerse yourself and feel connected to nature.

You will start your day with an energising yoga class in the beautiful yoga shala, followed by a vegetarian or plant-based breakfast to fuel for the hike. After brunch, you will have a hike briefing with our experienced hike guides based in the Lake District and then enjoy an all-day hike from 11 am – 4 pm with a packed lunch.

On your return, you will enjoy a 2 hour restorative yoga class followed by a vegetarian or plant-based dinner, depending on your dietary needs.

The chef is local to the area and set up the first-ever vegetarian restaurant in Ambleside, so from indulgent cuisine to rejuvenating wellness activities, we make sure this Lake District hiking and yoga retreat has something for everyone.

The next day, you can enjoy another guided walk with the hiking guide to and around Tarn Howes (Beatrice Potters’s favourite lakes) and learn about the area from the experts. We hike in all weather, from cloudy days to rainy days.

After a day’s excursions, unwind with evening yin and restorative yoga and yoga Nidra, followed by a delicious vegan and vegetarian evening meal. To relax, book a massage and relax in the venue’s grounds. Whilst out in the vast expanse of natural beauty, take a moment to breathe, meditate, and absorb the serenity.

Cuisine

We believe that our retreats should be nurturing in every way. So our Vitality Chefs will create tasty, healthy, vegetarian meals for you from local, seasonal produce.

All of our food is gently detoxing and we cater to various dietary preferences. Our guests are always impressed by our creative, flavoursome dishes — that’s because the food is just as important to us as the yoga.

Yoga

Our classes for our yoga retreat in the Lake District are really special, with natural light coming into the purpose-built, high ceiling yoga shala overlooking the mountains.

On this Lake District retreat, there are two teachers and you will be split into two groups for yoga. Each group will have 9 people to allow for social distancing so you can relax and enjoy the classes.

Each yoga class is designed in response to the energetic needs of the group, and this is reflected in the overall pace and rhythm of your yoga retreat. We ensure that the level and dynamics of the yoga classes are in harmony with the participants, the time of the day and the activities enjoyed that day.
