We are excited to say we are back this August bank holiday for our hiking and yoga retreats in the Brecon Beacons.

Stay in a family-owned multi-property estate that dates back to 1176, it was originally a farm serving the local monastery. Since then, it has had stunning renovations to create a beautiful retreat space.

With the closest town being Brecon, you are in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Take time out of your busy schedule to really relax, and restore body and mind in this healing space.

Of course, get your hiking boots ready to enjoy guided hikes with qualified guides. Try horse riding, canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking or paddleboarding down the River Wye.

Want to fully relax? You can curl up in front of the open fire if it’s cold or relax in the sun if warm, or enjoy a massage from our talented team. Truly, you will feel rested and restored, ready for the spring and summer month ahead!

With up to 4 hours of yoga a day, delicious vegan food from one of our fabulous chefs and gorgeous accommodation you will feel cared for throughout.

Accommodation

Located close to the literacy town of Hay-On-Wye, the property was once part of the farm serving a Cistercian monastery founded in 1176. Steeped in history the individual barns and buildings have been lovingly restored and updated to create a stunning home from home space.

Beautiful gardens create a multitude of private oases to relax in spread across the 4 individual buildings, each with their very own unique style and character, that we inhabit during our stay.

We have a choice of 6 single rooms with double beds and an ensuite bathroom, 3 single rooms with double beds with shared bathroom with 1 other room, a twin room with its own bathroom and a twin room with a shared bathroom with one other room.

The Wheat Silo is a quirky accommodation for two people sharing a double bed and it has its own kitchen, bathroom and living space and stunning views of the Brecon Beacons.

The yoga studio is a beautiful, long barn conversion full of natural light and double doors that open up into the inner courtyard and the valleys beyond.

Teacher

Marie Williams

Marie is a Yoga Teacher and Yoga Therapist, specialising in Vinyasa Flow, somatic movement, Yin and Restorative yoga. Her more active classes are not all about achieving peak poses, but are instead guided with a focus on connecting with your body and experience through an exploration of embodied movement, in a dynamic free-flowing form of Vinyasa yoga – that may take you on a journey towards those poses.

Marie also weaves breath awareness and mindful reflections throughout her classes, to help guide you towards a deeper awareness of self and presence you more fully in the here and now of your experience.

In her more restorative classes, she hopes to hold space for you to return home to yourself and to your body, and aims to help you find your way back to a more balanced and grounded centre.

She is passionate about educating people about the nervous system and using yoga practices to build resilience, as well as to support the body’s innate capacity for healing. Marie’s mission is to promote the potential of yoga in managing health and well-being and to support people’s physical and mental health by sharing the tools, practices and principles that yoga can offer.

Cuisine

All of our retreat chefs are highly experienced and passionate about their craft. We have always been a vegan/vegetarian company! Expect delicious and creative brunch, lunch, and 2-course evening meal. Each meal will be balanced to keep you energised all day.

Our chef is Charlotte Hopson. Charlotte’s motivation is to share her passion for seasonal, plant-based ingredients and encourages guests to use their time on retreat to reconnect with their relationship to food.

As a Pilates, Yoga teacher and Chef she believes that with a balanced approach to exercise, eating well, and making more mindful choices about how and what we consume, we can live a more nurturing, self-supporting and planet-friendly lifestyle.
