The property contains a large farm house and two cottages all recently renovated sympathetically to retain its original features of stone walls and exposed wooden beams. The large 14 acres of gardens consist of an inner garden, a secret garden, wildflower garden, a large meadow and a wooded walking path leading to the lovely River Wye.

Plantation Villa is an International award Winning Retreat Centre with over 10 years of experience in holistic wellbeing and deep knowledge of authentic Eastern practices, and will teach you a healthier and happier way of life.

A retreat in this beautiful riverside farmhouse will offer you the space to calm your mind, reconnect with your body, and awaken your spirit. The food is made of fresh produce and is home-cooked, combining local British ingredients with some of the beloved Sri Lankan recipes.

As part of the Retreat Package, Plantation Villa arranges afternoon activities in keeping with the concept. These activities include talks and workshops on Ayurveda, yoga, meditation, Ayurveda cookery classes, and guided meditations to name a few. If you want to get your hands in the soil, you are welcome to garden with them, as well as help out with any of their charity projects.

Nutrition And Cuisine

Nutrition is a cornerstone of Ayurveda, as food is considered both a potential cause of disease and a powerful tool for healing. In Ayurveda, many foods, especially spices, are seen as medicinal, and our carefully curated menu reflects this philosophy.

Designed by our Ayurvedic doctors, the meals follow specific guidelines on timing, portion sizes, and preparation methods to ensure they are easily digestible and help balance the body’s do

Breakfast:
Light and easy to digest, typically a variation of porridge with fruits, aligned with Ayurveda’s belief that the digestive fire (agni) is weaker in the morning.

Lunch:
The main meal of the day, with larger portions often based around rice, served when the digestive capacity is strongest.

Dinner:
A lighter meal served early in the evening to support digestion and promote restful sleep.

Your meals are freshly prepared on-site in our farm kitchen, using organic and locally sourced British ingredients blended with traditional Ayurvedic and Sri Lankan recipes.

The dishes are primarily plant-based, featuring vegetables, grains, and beans, which are mild and balancing for all doshas. The meals are vegetarian, gluten-free, and free from refined sugars, artificial products, and preservatives. We can provide vegan options and cater to specific dietary needs upon request—just let us know in advance.

While portion sizes may initially seem smaller and lighter than you are accustomed to, this approach helps the body feel lighter and the mind clearer over time. Our meals are designed not just to nourish, but to harmonize and rejuvenate, enhancing your overall retreat experience.

We also serve a welcome drink, along with water and a selection of herbal teas available throughout the day. How to get here

The closest train stations are Hereford (20 minutes drive away) and Gloucester (40 minutes drive away). NOTE: If you are going to take a taxi, Plantation Villa highly recommend you book it in advance to avoid waiting around as they are not always available at the station.

The closest airports are Cardiff International Airport (CWL), Birmingham International Airport (BHX), and Bristol Airport (BRS), which are around a 90-minute drive to the retreat.
