Accommodation
Our accommodations are free from telephones, wifi and television. Instead, our signature flag system is a simple but effective way to communicate with our attentive staff. The yellow flag signals for room service, transportation, or a special request and the red flag for privacy.
Twenty two luxurious accommodations dot the island ensuring privacy and beautiful views. Our spacious open-plan one bedroom cottages and two bedroom beach villas have been designed for maximum comfort and privacy.
One Bedroom Cottage
Perfect for individuals or couples, our island has sixteen, one bedroom cottages, half of which are nestled within the hills and the remaining half on the beach.
Disconnect and reconnect in your luxurious one bedroom cottage. Petit St. Vincent resort has been a favorite destination for visitors seeking an alternative vacation that leaves one replenished—allowing the time and space to soak in the beauty of Caribbean life with a loved one or in solitude.
Our resort’s sixteen, one bedroom cottages are placed discreetly in a variety of locations on the island—some in the hills of ocean bluffs and some right on the beach. Each cottage has its own particular unique advantages, whether it’s a sunset or beach view, or a panoramic view overlooking the whole island and sea, which repeat guests enjoy discovering.
Assembled from hand-quarried native bluebitch stone, every one bedroom cottage is a freestanding structure with vaulted, purpleheart hardwood ceilings and an open-floor plan.
From the minute you settle in, you will feel like you are in the privacy of your own home. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors can be opened to take in the fresh sea breeze, or if preferred, there is air conditioning.
Designed with utmost comfort in mind, each en suite cottage is fitted with king-sized beds, a spacious living room and indoor and outdoor dining areas should you desire to have your meals delivered to you.
Furnishings are modern and contemporary, made from teak, natural materials and fabrics with soft pastel hues. In room amenities include: a Bose iPod docking station, a Nespresso coffee machine, Italian linens, soft Mascioni towels, luxury bathroom toiletries and air conditioning.
After a swim or walk, you can relax on your teak sun loungers on your large wooden sun deck or in a hammock for that perfect nap.
Two Bedroom Beach Villa
For couples, families or friends who may require more room, we offer six, two bedroom beach front villas, positioned only a few steps from the water’s edge. They provide over 1,500 square feet of understated luxury, a perfect setting with ample room for enjoying a memorable vacation with loved ones.
Built from native bluebitch stone and local purpleheart wood, each beach front villa has two bedrooms, along with their own spacious bathroom. The soothing sounds and beautiful views of the ocean can be had without ever having to leave the comfort of your bed.
The villa’s master bedroom is fitted with a king-size bed, and the second bedroom offers two queen-size beds.
Large, floor-to-ceiling glass doors which face the ocean can be opened to let in the refreshing ocean breeze, or if you prefer, there are ceiling fans and air conditioning. A semi-covered, central lounge area with a vaulted 20 ft. pavilion-ceiling and cool, marble floors, divides the two bedrooms. Teak louvered sliding doors provide nighttime privacy.
Just steps from the warm Atlantic ocean, you can laze away the day in a comfy tree-hung hammock with your favorite book in hand and a glass of chilled rosé. A large, wooden sun deck furnished with soft upholstered sun loungers provide the perfect place to bask in the sun after an afternoon of snorkeling around the coral reefs.
Cuisine
With two restaurants, one hillside and one beachside, our gourmet chefs offer a variety of creative cuisine inspired by locally-caught seafood and our organic island-grown fruit and vegetables. During sunset, weekly beach barbecues with great local music make for a romantic dinner under the starlit skies.
Pavilion Restaurant
The Main Pavilion Restaurant can accommodate intimate, romantic dinners for two, as well as banquet-style table settings for families and groups of friends.
Guests can dine indoors in our main dining room or outside on any one of our beautiful wooden terraces surrounded by flowering frangipani and hibiscus trees. The original, iconic, curved bar with hanging terracotta lights is a favorite gathering place pre-dinner drinks and cocktails.
Be sure to stop by our wine cellar for a look at our impressive collection of wine and champagne. For after dinner digestives, savor one of the Caribbean’s finest delicacies, with our expansive collection of fine, barrel aged rums.
With a daily changing à la carte menu, a delightful mix of creative appetizers, entrées and desserts make for a satisfying three-course meal. Great effort is taken to incorporate fresh, organic produce from our extensive garden which includes a variety of tropical fruit, vegetables, greens, herbs and free-range eggs from our chickens.
Menus are often designed around a main course, such as fresh, locally-caught fish and seafood, or imported cuts of succulent Black Angus beef and New Zealand lamb. Vegetarian meals are abundant as well. It can be easy to overindulge, but the chef’s desserts are certainly worth holding back a little—rich, dark chocolate tarts infused with locally distilled rum, lemongrass and coconut crème brûlées, and soft meringue roulades with berry coulis are to name but a few.
Due to the intimate nature of the resort, our culinary team can easily accommodate guests’ individual dietary requirements and special requests. Meet with our Executive Chef to arrange a special culinary indulgence and tailor-make your own menu.
Beach restaurant
A blissful, casual dining experience fringed with swaying palms and a sunset view. It is entirely possible to while away the afternoons until the sun goes down at our atmospheric open-air beach restaurant and bar located on the Leeward side of the island.
Flanked by almond trees and swaying palms, guests can kick back and dine at generously-spaced hardwood tables, nestled comfortably under the cool shade of a traditional grass thatched roof, or at the Beach Bar.
Relax barefoot, with your toes in the sand and nibble away at our tasty a la carte selection of Caribbean delights such as charcoal-grilled locally caught fish, barbecue chicken with pineapple and coriander rice and Mediterranean-influenced salads.
Goatie’s Bar
Goatie’s Bar is conveniently located adjacent to the Beach Restaurant and stretches out over the water’s edge offering postcard perfect sunset views. The comfy lounge area with low-cushioned sofas and round rattan loungers accented with turquoise pillows, is the perfect place to take in the laid back beach vibe.
Have Bequia pour you one of his signature rum punches made up of Vincentian rum, pineapple juice, lime juice, nutmeg and a few other top secret ingredients. Or sample the locally-brewed Hairoun Beer or perfectly chilled wine from our wine cellar.
Activities
Unwind with our low-key on-island activities: two yoga pavilions, a Balinese-run luxury spa and wellness center, and an array of land and water sports. Boat charters are available for day excursions to the nearby Tobago Cays marine reserve.
Engage as you like with any of our wide-ranging activities either on the island, or off. Whether your desire is to maintain your fitness levels to justify that extra piña colada, or to add to the tranquility of our island with a yoga session or hillside spa treatment, we have just the right balance of things to do.
Spa
Revitalize your mind, body and spirit in our hillside spa. Whether you crave a complete overhaul or would just like to have a simple facial, our highly experienced team of Balinese therapists provide a wide range of treatments designed to help you unwind.
It all happens at our hillside spa. Four open-air treatment rooms constructed from locally-sourced wood, sit elevated and nestled among the trees at the base of Marni Hill. The soothing sounds of humming birds and views of tropical foliage with backdrop of the sea, help to facilitate a tranquil and peaceful environment, conducive for healing.
Treatments come in a range of lengths and intensities—everything from a short, traditional back and foot massage to a full 90-minute Balinese Warm Stone or Island Fusion deep massage. Treatments are administered using our unique blend of aromatherapy oils and body scrubs, prepared with a combination of healing herbs, spices and plants sourced from the Caribbean and Asia.
For couples, the luxury spa offers a special 150-minute couples treatment, beginning with a foot bath and warm foot massage, followed by an exfoliating scrub and deep Balinese massage, before finishing off with a facial or manicure for her, or reflexology or pedicure for him.
For those who like to meditate, our relaxation deck is a great place to remain still while surrounded by lush vegetation and quiet. Should you desire to have your treatments in the privacy of your cottage or beach villa simply ask reception to book a home treatment and one of our therapists will come to you.
Yoga
A peaceful place to practice yoga, either with a yoga instructor, or on your own. Our two open-air yoga pavilions, one facing Conch Bay looking out to the Atlantic and the other on the leeward side facing Caribbean Beach, offer guests a peaceful place to practice yoga.
Most guests come across our open-air Yoga Pavilion near Conch Bay while walking along West End Beach. Set back from the beach, with a hardwood floor and a thatched roof, this tucked away pavilion is a perfect place to practice early morning yoga.
Or should you be on the leeward side of the island just past the beach restaurant, our Caribbean yoga pavilion in a similar style is also available.
Our two on-site yoga instructors offer individual or group sessions with flexible timings for all skill levels so beginners and experienced yogis will be able to fully enjoy. Yoga mats and accessories are provided.
For independent yogis, our Atlantic pier leading out into the sea is also a wonderfully, shaded place to work up a sweat while practicing your inner warrior. Afterwards, you can use the pier as a springboard into the warm turquoise ocean for refreshment.
Water sports
The turquoise water surrounding our island is both delightfully warm and welcoming. There’s nothing like the rush of windsurfing on a clear day or to simply float over the Caribbean Sea in a glass-bottom kayak. Guests of all experience levels can enjoy our state-of-the art water sports equipment.
Non-motorized equipment such as kayaks, SUP’s, Hobie Cats, Sunfish, windsurfers and snorkeling gear are complimentary at the water sports center at the base of our main dock. Safety equipment such as vests are provided, and for any needed assistance our staff will be stationed around the beach area to ensure that help is always at hand.
Kayaking
Circling the 2-mile circumference of the island in late afternoon in a kayak is a fun way to see the beaches and island terrain from a different perspective as the colors of the sky take on a warm hue past Conch Bay.
Snorkeling
Whether you wish to go for a relaxing swim or want to check out the marine life and coral reefs around the resort, snorkels and fins are complementary from the boathouse.
A popular entry point into the water can be had from our Atlantic Pier, stretching out over the coral reef paralleling the shore. The warm water can be accessed by a swim ladder or taking a giant leap, which is great fun.
Kite Surfing and Diving
For more adventurous guests, kite surfing and scuba diving are available from reputable local providers. We’ll make the arrangements simple for you, just tell us when you would like to go and we’ll organize everything.
This will allow you to concentrate on more important things like reading your favorite book in your tree-slung hammock with a refreshing drink by your side before taking advantage of the welcoming Caribbean waters.
Hiking
For those who enjoy a good hike, the winding path shown on our island map leads up to the Marni Hill’s 275 ft. summit. The reward of your efforts will be an expansive view of the surrounding archipelago and stunning Caribbean sea. This hike is best enjoyed in the morning or late afternoon to avoid the midday sun.
Fitness Trail
Our outdoor calisthenic fitness trail provides guests the opportunity for a thorough workout within a shaded area just off the island’s West End. Jogging to each of the stations along the beaches and through the natural woodlands is a great warm up.
Should you need instructions for any of the exercises, our on-site fitness guru will be on hand to guide you through the 20-station circuit.
Jogging
For jogging enthusiasts, a spin around the internal perimeter of the island should take no longer than half an hour at a leisurely pace. It is a great way to see and perhaps pick a favorite spot to relax on one of the island’s stunning white sand beaches.
Tennis
Reserve our lighted tennis court with complementary rackets and balls. Competitive couples may wish to play a match of tennis with each other or other resort guests.
Golf
Guests of Petit St. Vincent looking to enjoy some golf during their Caribbean vacation can access the 18-hole course on nearby Canouan Island. Just let the office know that you wish to play a few rounds and we’ll arrange everything, allowing you to concentrate on enjoying your relaxing escape.
Location and how to get there
The principle gateway to Petit St. Vincent is Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI) in Barbados. With direct international flights from Toronto, New York, Miami, and London, same day arrival is possible from most points in the Americas and Europe. We recommend Skyscanner to search for the best airfare.
From Barbados, you will fly to nearby Union Island, where a representative will be waiting to escort you to our private launch. Then it’s just a short 20-minute boat ride to our private island.
Air Arrivals in Barbados
Mustique Airways, (the longest operating airline in the Grenadines), provides a round trip Barbados-Union Island route exclusively for Petit St. Vincent guests.
Upon your arrival to Barbados, you will simply board a small twin engine aircraft which holds no more than six passengers to ensure your flight over the Grenadine islands will be as intimate and private as your Petit St. Vincent luxury holiday.
Should your flight arrive in Barbados later than your scheduled departure time to Union Island, your Mustique flight will wait for you. In the event that take off is delayed past Union Island’s airport sunset closure, your Mustique flight will land at the lighted airport of Canouan, which is a 45-minute boat ride to Petit St. Vincent.
Petit St. Vincent has negotiated a round trip rate of $650 per person, for the Barbados-Union-Barbados regularly scheduled flights, exclusively for guests staying at our resort. This cost includes a newly imposed Barbados Tourism Development fee of $35 per person roundtrip effective October 1, 2018.
Barbados Airport / Security Service Tax: The Barbados airport departure tax is US$16.00 per person (US$33 per person for stopovers of 6 hours or more) flying out of Barbados. Tax for guests departing from Union Island is $37.20 per person. Our team will look after these fees on your behalf and bill to your room at check out.
