Yoga Jo’s

Yoga Jo’s is a dedicated yoga studio, yoga therapy centre and Yoga Teacher Training school owned and run by experienced teacher and teacher trainer Jo Lockhart and her team of teachers. Situated in Milngavie in the suburbs of Glasgow they run yoga classes and workshops for all abilities, giving you the choice to practice with them online or in their beautiful tranquil studio.

All of their classes are designed to enhance your physical and mental wellbeing through a combination of physical movement, breathing practices, mindfulness and meditation.

Jo is also a Minded Institute Yoga Therapist and runs 1/2/1 Therapy sessions from the studio as well as group courses designed to enhance your physical and mental wellbeing if you are struggling.

They are a Yoga Alliance and Yoga Alliance Professionals approved Yoga Teacher Training School running in person teacher trainings both at foundational and advanced level.

Marianna Arcoiris

Marianna is a certified Yoga and Pilates teacher with experience in holding classes, workshops and ceremony space for transformative healing.

She currently offers weekly online classes with creative vinyasa sequences that combine physically challenging poses with deeply relaxing yin poses. She also offers tailored one to one classes that can include, yoga, Pilates, fitness, breathwork and meditation, according to one’s personal needs.

Marianna has experience in providing guidance for injury recovery and as a qualified Nutritionist and can offer specialised dietary advice. She integrates her knowledge of anatomy and physiology with the subtleties of the energetic body. She strives to bring a balance into her teaching, of flexibility and strength, of stillness and movement, of grounding and spirituality.

Marianna encourages each individual to move in a way that is beneficial to them personally, giving emphasis on alignment and posture. She continues to expand her knowledge through attending workshops and trainings in yin yoga, yoga nidra, breathwork and hands on adjustments.

She has a deep understanding of the human body, not only through her somatic training but also her degree in Biology (Bsc) and Clinical nutrition (Msc). Her classes are a movement exploration combining insight and knowledge from ancient practices and informed by the modern understanding of the body and the nervous system.

Turn Pilates

Turn Pilates provides therapeutic exercise to transform your body. The studio is equipped with the best Pilates apparatus in the world, custom made and imported from the USA.

Healthy Eats

The Glad Cafe

The Glad Cafe is a local favourite in the Southside of Glasgow – they are a not for profit music venue with a licensed cafe. It has something to offer people of any age or background in this diverse and vibrant local community.

Since September 2018, they’ve been delighted to serve incredible vegetarian and vegan brunches from 9am-4pm made by the magnificent Hen of the Woods, the team behind the the brilliant Asian inspired menu at The Hug & Pint in the West End.

Picnic

Picnic is a gorgeous cafe in the Merchant City. All the food is 100% vegan and prepared with fresh ingredients. The cafe was founded by Michelle Morrow who wanted to provide a healthy and cruelty-free alternative to the otherwise chip shop, pub and seafood dominated neighbourhood.

The 78

This cosy, dog-friendly cafe in the city’s west end has been serving up homemade vegan food since opening in 2017.  With a menu that focuses on healthy, plant-based cuisine, excellent coffee and flavoursome smoothies, Serenity Now is a great breakfast or lunch pit stop when shopping on Great Western Road.

This hip vegan eatery is know for its incredibly reasonable pricing policy. All menu items are completely meat-and-dairy-free, with a special lunch menu available. DJs play every week, and Sundays are reserved for live jazz.

The Red Onion

Award winning Red Onion is situated in the heart of Glasgow city centre. Chef/patron, John Quigley’s roller coaster career started in London’s West End where he quickly established himself and gained a reputation for excellent casual gourmet dining.
