The four star boutique eco-friendly hotel Chavanel located on Rue Tronchet in The Madeleine quarter, is beautiful and sophisticated like the women that designed it – architects Anne Peyroux and Emmanuèle Thisy, in complete accord with the hotel owner Sophie Charlet. There are plenty of feminine touches in the details and the perfectly tailored, soft and silky fabrics and furnishings throughout. From the lobby to the 6th floor and in every room the windows are adorned in authentic French lace curtains designed by tulle and lace specialist Sophie Hallette.
An intimate lobby lit up by delicate lighting and elegantly designed to combine classic and modern in equal measure. There’s a feeling of softness and earthliness from the white birch tree trunks and plants presented in the lobby to the serene and natural colours with splashes of passionate reds and blues.
My chic suite located on the sixth floor is more like a studio apartment and it’s love at first sight. It feels like my birthday as waiting for me on the table are a pretty box of Laduree macaroons and a bottle of French perfume from Detaiile.
It’s simply perfect, a colourful and spacious cocoon with every area designed for relaxation, whether that’s on one of the cosy couches, the super comfy bed with cashmere throw to wrap around yourself or in the pure and bright bathroom, indulging in the Nuxe bath products whilst bathing the jacuzzi bath.
The owner of the hotel Sophie Charlet has committed to eco-friendly guidelines throughout the hotel. All its vibrant rooms are decorated with recycled materials and locally sourced linens, original and eco-friendly designed lamps grace the bedside tables in each of the rooms an the Luxe bathroom products are eco-friendly.
Unusual for Paris too, the breakfast is 100% organic and healthy with fresh produce and lactose and gluten free options. This was a huge plus for me finding a healthy breakfast in Paris is difficult!
Paris never fails to seduce and I was certainly seduced by the charm of the Hotel Chavanel.
