A 100 year old property owned by the then chief of the village and ‘govi raja’ – Paddy King, an honour bestowed by the government. This property has now been expanded upon to create a nature health resort.

Plantation Villa is a specialist Ayurveda / Yoga retreat set amidst a 30 acre plantation of Rubber, Coconut, Cinnamon, Black Pepper and numerous vegetation, fruit trees and paddy fields.

We specialize in Ayurveda which is an ancient art of healing the body and mind through nutrition, relaxation, and herbal treatments. Our Ayurvedic doctors and senior therapists have over 15 year of experience.

The guest experiences are personalised – each guest will be met by an Ayurvedic Doctor on the first day of their arrival who will plan their diet and ayurveda treatment plans which will be administered during their stay.

Our retreat at Plantation Villa provides a chance to deepen and renew your yoga and meditation practice, whilst caring for your body and mind with loving care from our village team. We also offer light detox and weight loss packages combined with Ayurveda.

The majority of the food served to guests come from our own organic gardens surrounding the hotel and daily yoga classes will be conducted to compliment their therapies.

Additionally, cookery classes, meditation classes and day trips are organised to allow guests to experience life in rural Sri Lanka.

Set in a rural village, surrounded by lush green natural landscape, we are a community center where a village has come together to serve you and take you on an unimaginable journey.

The retreat funds and maintains the Metta Trust charity to do community development, wildlife conservation and forest preservation activities.

We maintain the local temples, village schools and fund majority of the community activities in our village and surrounding villages.

Over 90% of our staff team are local villagers from underprivileged backgrounds who we have trained and offered employment along with mentoring to improve their lives and the lives of their children.

Notes

Maybe you have heard the news about Sri Lanka. It certainly has spread wide, and it is true that our country is facing a major economic crisis with high inflation causing problems to many people here.

Whilst waiting for the government to resolve this crisis with better policies and economic changes, we are also trying to maintain our organisation and our community.

We are doing what we know best, which is to continue our healing and transformational work and looking after our community.

We have noticed that some of our guests are concerned about coming and are wondering if they will be stranded at the airport without fuel or struggle without food. It is not so. If you are considering coming here for your healing, please do not worry – we are in a very safe environment and our guests are not seeing any change or having any impact from the larger issues and struggles in Sri Lanka.

We are lucky to be able to continue living in a self-sufficient way that is in line with the ancient village ways of our country by planting our own food. We provide a calming space in the middle of nature.

We can pick you up from the airport and drop you back. We have electricity and commercial generator if there are power cuts, we have food and everything continues as normal.

Our villagers are struggling to keep up with the rising costs due to the devaluation of the local currency, but this will not impact tourists. So we want to restate that we are hosting guests at the moment and we are looking forward to hosting you too soon. Please contact us if you need any information for your booking.
