The weekend will be facilitated by experienced and specialist members of faculty in personal resilience and mindfulness.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is our capacity to pay attention on purpose, in the present moment with an attitude of care and compassion. Mindfulness, which is cultivated using techniques like meditation and yoga, enables people to become more aware of themselves, others and the world around them. It increases their appreciation of each moment.

Yoga

Yoga is the science of getting to know yourself through movement and breath. We spend most of our lives living in our minds, yoga brings awareness of our bodies, along with strength and flexibility.

Yoga is calming for the mind and helps to regulate the nervous system. Practices can be dynamic or passive, but all can be adapted to accommodate where your body is at the moment. Our yoga sessions are suitable for beginners as well as experienced participants.

Teacher

The weekend will be facilitated by experienced and specialist members of faculty in Personal Resilience and Mindfulness. They will teach you the techniques of mindfulness and how to apply them in your daily routine, and how to find the balance between your mind, body and soul ensuring you leave us feeling balanced, relaxed and happy.

Cuisine

Our passion for fine dining has earned Ashridge an unrivalled reputation for using the finest local produce; local farms have supplied the Ashridge kitchens with seasonal produce for centuries, and we take care to source all our ingredients from sustainable suppliers.

You will dine from our healthy menu based on fresh seasonal ingredients; including invigorating and reviving breakfast, lunch designed to give you all the nutrition needed to fuel your body, and a buffet dinner.

All our food is freshly prepared and we source meat, fruit and vegetables that are in season from local farmers wherever possible. All tea, coffee and bananas are Fairtrade. All fish is sustainably sourced – we do not serve any fish from the‘MCS fish to avoid’ list. Our chefs use fresh herbs grown at Ashridge from our herb gardens.

We worked with a local school and scout group to replant the original orchard of apples, pears, cherries and plums so that our chefs can use the fruit in our kitchen. We provide all of our chefs with sustainable food training.
