About The Retreat

5 Night Luxury Yoga, Food & Culture Retreat in Puglia

SAVE $150  Last Minute Booking Offer

Join us on our annual retreat to Italy’s “it list” region of Puglia on our NEW itinerary! Spend a week amongst fertile red earth, gnarled olives, turquoise seas, beautiful trulli and some of Italy’s best cuisine! We’ll enjoy daily yoga, trips to see the sea cliffs, time by the pool, spa treatments, tastings, cultural visits, and more.

Tour through Puglia’s famous “Trulli,” white, cone-shaped houses in the town of Alberobello, a UNESCO heritage site where the main concentration of these trulli still stand.

One day is spent in the neighbouring region of Bascilicata in the town of Matera where we’ll enjoy the sites and unwind in a beautiful spa with treatments. The next day will be spent learning about the flavours of Puglia.

We start off with a cheese tasting and a visit to the town of Martina Franca. We will take in the gorgeous hilltop town of Ostuni, known as the White City, explore some of Italy’s oldest olive farms and enjoy a meal in a local restaurant.

Our day trips will allow you to experience the many unique landscapes and activities that this area has to offer.  One night will be spent at an award-winning restaurant with a tasting menu + wine pairing. Next we have a day of relaxation planned at one of the region’s blue beaches and at a private beach club.

One day will include a winery visit with a tour and tasting, and yet another day with a visit to one of the area’s most picturesque towns with plenty of photo-worthy vistas and blue waters, followed by an amazing unique meal in a “grotto” overlooking the cliffs by the sea in Polignano al Mare.

We will round out the week with massage treatments and plenty of time to relax at our home-away-from-home with its beautiful pool, walking trails, and more.

Yoga

Daily meditation and yoga classes will be offered on our yoga retreat in Puglia in a way to relax, stimulate, and help guests grow in their own personal practice. Classes are open to all levels, beginner to practiced, and can range from gentle, restorative, and more vigorous vinyasa flow and ashtanga styles.

Style and class levels will be determined and moulded to fit participating students’ needs, and with a small intimate retreat class size, students will be able to get personalised attention and comfortability to deeply explore their practice.

Depending on each retreat location, classes will be held in a dedicated indoor yoga space and some also offer outdoor options as well for us to use if the weather is agreeable.

Your Hosts

Erin Lewis

Certified yoga instructor Erin Lewis, will facilitate the classes, helping each student focus on improving their practice and gaining new insights into their bodies and movements.

She’s studied various types of yoga disciplines since 1998, concentrating on the Ashtanga discipline since 2008. She received her teacher certification in Florence, Italy and has continued her education with various specialty certifications throughout the years. She now combines powerful movements with more anatomical-based core vinyasa flow and restorative movement in her personal practice and teaching style. Participation in classes and activities is optional throughout the retreat. All levels welcome!

Ruthie Lindsey

For this retreat in Puglia we’re happy to welcome our special guest, Ruthie Lindsey who will be leading an inspiring motivational talk during our time together as well as a non-linear movement meditation.

A speaker, author, podcast host, and social media figure, Ruthie travels the globe sharing her story, empowering others to find purpose in their pain and to look for beauty in the midst of their sacred wounds.

Ruthie shares a remarkable story of surviving an accident that nearly paralyzed her as a teenager and her subsequent battle as a young woman with chronic pain and dependency. Her story is one of strength and resilience, the faith she lost and rebuilt in herself, and the power of sharing our stories. Ruthie challenges audiences to find the healing that is inside all of us.

Cuisine

Healthful, vegetarian food is part of the yoga retreat in Puglia experience, including breakfast and dinner daily, as well as selected lunches. We’ve carefully chosen delicious and fresh meals from renowned restaurants and chefs, which will give guests an expansive experience of the cuisine.

Our dinners will include a few multi-course tasting menus, as well as tastings throughout the week which could include regional specialities such as wine, cheese, and olive oil. While on-site, we’ll dine in the restaurant which offers a modern take on the local food, based on traditional cooking methods and full creativity of the chef.

A cooking class is in store for us as well as a meal in the world-famous Grotta, which is said to be one of the most beautiful restaurant settings in the world.

Accommodation

Our home for our luxury yoga retreat in Puglia will be at the fabulous new ultra-chic boutique hotel Ottolire. Deep in the heart of Puglia’s rolling, romantic Valle d’Itria, the conical whitewashed buildings of the famous trulli houses pierce the velvety blue sky.

Hewn from the dry stone of the valley and topped with a handmade pinnacle – a signature from the stonemason – these former farm dwellings have become fashionable places to stay for travellers seeking quirky lodgings in the sun-beaten south. The once-derelict trulli houses of Ottoleri Resort captured the attention of a local couple in 1973, and after a family affair of painstaking reconstruction, their children have transformed the settlement into a tranquil resort.

Outside are terraces encircled by chestnut and olive trees, a pool that’s large enough for laps, and an organic garden where fruit and vegetables are grown for the restaurant. It’s a stylish slice of rural Italian life, a place to savour simple delights: dappled sunlight on your skin, a poolside siesta in the shade of a prickly-pear tree, a glass of local wine at sunset, and the chatter of birds from the hotel’s surrounding estate.

What past guests have said

“Erin, It’s hard to know where to begin. The week was, in a word, magical, and even my most sincere thanks aren’t enough. After following these retreats for a year, I can hardly believe I was able to experience it myself. You are an inspiration. Your thoughtful planning and extensive research comes through with every detail – the pre-retreat emails, the welcome bag and note, the extraordinary meals and excursions, the yoga classes which always seemed to be just what we needed. It was a privilege to meet you and to be in your positive energy and glow for a week. I take none of it for granted.” Paige

“I am so grateful that I got to join this beautiful week in Puglia. I felt so happy the whole week. The yoga classes Erin gives,- give me an inner peace and well-being and I can’t wait to experience it again. Everyday was filled with what felt like the exact thing I wanted to do, the people in the group were fabulous, every one of them, lots of laughs and happy moments together. The Puglia-experience still sits in my system and I know it gave me the final kick to change my life, I am in process, for me it was an important moment. I can’t wait for the next one, and as I am an returning guest – I know I’ve become addicted! Thank you Erin, for everything!”.  Ane – Oslo, Norway
