This funky four star boutique hotel located near the Plaza de Madeline with only 22 rooms and two suites, offers a restful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of Parisian city life. Given it has a Turkish spa to detox in and soothe those tired feet after a day exploring the city, it fits nicely into the Wellness in the City guides I’m creating. And for those who don’t want to leave their room there’s a jacuzzi bath to relax and pamper yourself or each other in!
The bright and shiny reception area greets you with warm neutrals tones combined with bold and brightly coloured cushions, rich textures, sumptuous fabrics, glistening marble floor and twinkling silver chandeliers. The classy and chic interior of the hotel is meticulously devised by architect dynamic duo Anne Peyroux and Emmanuèle Thisy. Like a magnet I was attracted to the quirky curiosity cabinet with painted butterflies and feathers.
I spent hours relaxing in my suite located on the sixth floor that sits under the eaves with fantastic views over the Parisian rooftops of the city. Three things I love about this room are the light, space and bright colours. When its not sunny and raining outside you can comfortably retreat and there’s room to get out your yoga mat and do your own self practice if you wish to. I also wanted to feel the textures and touch everything from the funky striped wall covering designed by Dedar, seychelles mother of pearl walllcovering by Nobilis and the glossy moon shaped bedside lamps with golden orbit by Bruno Rainaldi.
The highlight of the room is the jacuzzi bath with skylight allowing plenty of light to pour through in the City of Light. I was in my element bathing with a glass of champagne and Clarins bath products. There’s an enormous Italian rain shower too in case you’re in a rush and still want a heavenly wash!
No wellness experience is complete without a trip to the hamman or the gym if you are feeling energetic, and by trip I mean taking the elevator to the basement. No passport or check in needed! You can have the spa all to yourself in complete peace and quite. A perfect way to start or end the day… or both!
