Saturdays are always better when the afternoon ends in a savasana. In conjunction with Lululemon, the Marylebone hotel hosts a morning of gentle yoga with Kirsty Gallagher, followed by an organic and delicious brunch supplied by 108 Brasserie and The Juicery.
In a bid to stay fit, healthy and calm whilst living in London and to discover the best places to go to this was on my ‘be well’ list. I love practicing yoga at the start of the weekend and bringing in the peacefulness and energy of each sun salutation.
Our teacher Kirsty has been teaching yoga since 2009 and ran over 60 yoga retreats. I have personally known Kirsty for a few years and this amazing woman leads by example; she is knowledgeable, patient and such a gifted and inspirational teacher. Her authenticity and passion for the practice radiates from her being. I’m sure she has changed the lives of many of her students.
The hour long practice takes place in the Blue Room of the luxurious 5 star Marylebone hotel. A serene and calming space with a roaring fire place creating the perfect back drop to meditate on. The yoga is suitable for all levels and there wasn’t more than 15 students in the room ensuring that there was plenty of room to move around the mat.
After the yoga brunch was served consisting of a plenty of scrumptious small bites including avocado on toasts with chilli flakes, acai bowl with granola, berries and seeds, fresh fruit and protein balls, and a range of of nutrient-packed juices and coffee for those in need of it.
The day felt like a mini retreat and I left the Marylebone Hotel feeling completely rejuvenated. There is power in the small bits of time you invest in yourself so for those of you caught up in the busy rat race of London make sure you put your own health and wellbeing first.
